Ajax have produced some of the best talents in European football for the past few decades, and now Frenkie de Jong is attracting the interest of big clubs thanks to his great performances. At the moment both Barcelona and Manchester City are taking concrete action to acquire him, especially Barca who have contacted Ajax frequently not necessarily to open a formal negotiation but rather to open a dialogue- at the moment the Dutch club isn’t willing to even consider this.
Regarding Manchester City, Guardiola likes de Jong quite a bit and he could be a good fit for the current Premier League champions. In addition to the midfielder born in ’97, current Ajax captain De Ligt has become a target for Juventus who are looking for a center back of the future.
