Barcelona, Bartomeu: "We've given a try for Verratti but PSG didn't want to sell him. Iniesta? There's an agreement to extend his contract"

There's a bit of pessimism at Barcelona at the moment with Neymar's sale and especially because of the SuperCup loss against Real Madrid. Josep Maria Bartomeu has given a long interview to Mundo Deportivo: "We're satisfied with our squad because we wanted a fullback like Semedo, a central midfielder like Paulinho, we've brought back Deulofeu and got Dembele who's a strong and young player. Coutinho? We would have liked to get one more player in the team but Barca can't play some games with this kind of asked figures by Liverpool. We're happy with the squad we've set because we'll fight in every competition. This summer's transfer window didn't make any sens as some of the money came from the outside and it's a philosophy Barcelona don't share. Pessimism? I'd say to all the culé they shouldn't feel like that. Luis Enrique's era is over and we've won a lot with him but we're now starting a new leg with Valverde. We must stay unite together because Barcelona can win it all. Messi's extension? He has three signed contracts with our team and by the end of last June he formalized this new adventure with us. There also is his father's signing that only needs a new picture to be official. Iniesta? We're working with him, there's an agreement. We would all appreciate he'd finish his career here after all he's done with Barcelona. He's an exemple, not only for Barca fans but for everyone. Neymar? Until the end of July we weren't sure that would have happen because his father changed his mind. Now we only think about Dembele. Verratti? Barcelona tried but we respect other clubs' wills. Then there also aren't clauses in every country and if PSG tell they don't want to sell we have to respect that".
