Tomorrow the Azzurri take on Poland in an important Nations League match, as both teams look for a win to avoid the risk of finishing in third place in the group. Together with CT Roberto Mancini, capitan Giorgio Chiellini spoke to the press.
"The match with Poland won't be a final, but an important push for the Euros. The road is still long," said Chiellini. The Azzurri will move forward from their friendly against Ukraine, in which they played good soccer for large parts of the match. "It was a pleasure to play like that. It was unfortunate to not score at least two goals with the way we played on the pitch."
Chiellini then spoke on his role with the national team: "I do not feel like I am essential. I feel important just like the others that are part of this group. We are getting to know each other day after day, there are a lot of great guys." The player did not want to express himself on the state of Italian soccer. "I am not used to passing judgement of this kind and I don't think that it's the right time to speak about it."
