The Europa League away game against CSKA Moscow brought some good news for Atletico Madrid, as the Colchoneros managed to reach the qualification to the quarter finals, but also some bad news for their defence. Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis in fact suffered the fracture of his left fibula and underwent surgery today in Madrid. Here is Atletico Madrid official update on Filipe Luis' injury: "
"Filipe Luis’ osteosynthesis surgery was a success and he has been discharged from the Clínica Cemtro, today, 17 March. Our left-back fractured his left fibula on Thursday, 16 March, in the UEFA Europa League match against Lokomotiv Moscow and underwent surgery on 17 March to install a plate in his fibula. The surgery was handled by doctors Pedro Guillén, Rafael Arriaza, Isabel Guillén and Ramón Navarro, under supervision by the Atlético de Madrid medical staff. It's estimated Filipe will be on the sidelines for eight weeks."
