Atalanta, Skrtel moving closer: the deal could close on Friday

Martin Skrtel is moving closer to a transfer to Atalanta. A few days ago, the Italian club open contacts with the 1984-born defender, and now the negotiations have progressed to a point where Friday could see the closing of the operation. Skrtel represents an experienced addition for Atalanta, who will be competing in European competition next year in addition to their domestic obligations. It would be the first experience for the veteran in Serie A, after playing most recently in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
