Atalanta continue to plan their future as they are set to completing a deal for Matteo Lovato. The 2000-born Hellas Verona centre-back had his breakthrough season under Juric, catching they eye of several clubs including Milan, however Atalanta managed to forestall the competition and reach an agreement with Verona.
La Dea have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Italian defender for €8 million plus €3 million in add-ons. The parties have settled the final details in the past few hours, with 15% of the transfer fee to be divided between Lovato's former clubs Genova and Padova.
The signing of Lovato is not tied to the situation of regarding Romero, as the Italian is considered an investment for the future and not linked to other deals. On Romero's front, a new meeting between Atalanta and Tottenham is scheduled for this week, with the clubs working to reach an agreement. Should they manage to find a solution that satisfies all the parties involved, Atalanta would target Demiral, who is currently their favoured option over Lille's Botman.
