Atalanta, president Percassi: "We want to extend Gasperini's contract. Ilicic and Gomez are not for sale"

After another good season, Atalanta managed to clinch seventh place in Serie A and to reach Europa League for the second time in a row. La Dea, that was knocked out by German giants Dortmund in the round of 32 of the European competition, is ready to step on the European stage again, as chairman Antonio Percassi said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: "We are ready, our pre-season will start on the the 1st of July. Gasperini? We've always had a good relationship with him. We're thinking about extending his contract". Then Percassi discussed the possible arrivals and departures in the upcoming transfer window: "There's not only Soriano [Villareal midfielder, formerly at Sampdoria], he is one of the names on our list. We are looking for a player that can play on the side and for a striker, but I won't name names. Ilicic and Gomez are staying, they are not for sale. Some academy youngsters such as Pessina, Valzania and Kulusevski will join the first team next season. And then there's Mancini, he will be the next Caldara", concluded Percassi.
