Atalanta, Percassi: "I couldn't sleep after the Everton game, it's been of the best first times since I'm the club's president"

After that night which will remain in Atalanta's history, since they've had a great win 3-0 against Everton for their return in Europe after 26 years. Antonio Percassi, the club's president, has talked about it to La Gazzetta dello Sport: "3 hours of sleep after the game, I've got back to my home after 2 am and not long after I got already up... Impossible to sleep after a night like this one. It would now be good to sleep a bit but there's the game against Chievo, how can I rest? We must remain focused, in my mind Atalanta's priority is Serie A. Chievo, besides last year's two successes, have always done well and also against Juve they've had a great game which only Dybala could unblock. I then don't want the team to think it won't be hard."

"Both the clubs and the fans will remember the game against Everton for a long time. The city as a whole has been partying, seemed like we weren't at Reggio Emilia but at Bergamo: they were 15000. The first time of the game has been one of the best since I'm president. Did I expect more from Everton? No, because they're very strong, Rooney's a champion, he was about to score but Atalanta were very well organized, we were very motivated".

About Petagna: "I don't like talking about individuals but Petagna's game has been the best since he's at the club. He's done two goals, the ball coming from Cristante was amazing. He's done an impressive work. Papu Gomez wanted to play in Europe, he's done so much to get there and has celebrated it in the right way: an amazing goal but he knows well he still has to do so many more. You can expect everything from Gasperini, must be ready for anything, it doesn't surprise me anymore. He's got amazing adapting skills to his opponent. Atalanta first of their EL group? Yes, but let's not take ourselves too seriously. We've got a great result but Thursdays are there to get experience and have fun. Our group is really difficult. Apollon has done a great game against Lyon and that tells it all. We'll take one game after another".
