Atalanta are looking to make some changes on defense in January and are targeting a familiar name. With Simon Kjaer close to joining Sampdoria, a negotiation confirmed by their sporting director Osti in a recent interview, and Ibanez on his way out, Atalanta have contacted Milan about bringing back Mattia Caldara to Bergamo.
This is a complicated deal as Milan have to sign a defender first, Caldara did come up in Atalanta's youth system and has battled injuries in the past two seasons.
