Atalanta-Milan, Gattuso: "Great personality. Sixth? Everything would be easier"

Qualification to the next Europa League now certain after the draw in Bergamo, it remains to be seen whether Milan will finish sixth or seventh this season however.

It does not make a big difference, as admitted by Rino Gattuso to Sky Sport after the 1-1 draw against Atalanta:

"The motivations are there and touch each other. If you get sixth you have an extra week, you do the preparation properly and you do not play an official game after just 21 days, since the first preliminary round will be at the end of July. Many of them also have prizes in the contract. Better to get sixths for everything in life, everything would be easier. There is great regret, it was not easy to come here and perform after the loss in the Italian Cup to Juve. Our personality level was the best match of my team. To become a strong team you have to move from these competitions here, from the London race against Arsenal, to all. We hope to return, playing the game against Fiorentina how we want."

Gattuso then commented on some player choices of the match:

"Calabria always rests after ninety minutes. Biglia trained well and we knew we could risk something and unfortunately it went like this. I chose him because we were playing against an Atalanta that has great physicality, they never die and today I preferred to choose experienced players", concluded the Rossoneri coach.
