Atalanta's run in the Champions League came to an end this evening after Real Madrid's 3-1 win in the return leg of the round of sixteen. Following the match, the bergamaschi's manager Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to Sky Sport:"There were all the conditions to do better, that was the objective, the game took a turn for the worse because of our own mistakes. These were fantastic experiences for the team and the club, because you compete with players of a great caliber, we must be satisfied to have eliminated Ajax and beat Liverpool"
Gasperini went on:"We faced teams of a higher caliber than in Italy and this made us make more mistakes. Now the league remains until we play the Coppa Italia final. We must have the right energy to finish in the top four in the league"
