Atalanta, Gasperini: "Scudetto? There's still a gap ahead of us"

After the 7-2 triumph over Lecce, Atalanta celebrated another roaring victory, maintaining their hold on 4th place. Coach Giampiero Gasperini gave his modest thoughts afterwards on the stunning offensive performance from his players, talking to Sky Sport:  "The result could have gone differently, it was 2-2 at one point. We came back from it, but it could have been a very bad result. This team returned to playing the ball in the center of the pitch and kept on playing. The 3-2 goal came from a great play between Ilicic and Papu. Then I took them out, and the two substitutes came on and scored. The players want to be seen, and that's how this match was born."

"Scudetto race? We may have lost too many matches. To win you need 85-90 points. We have raised our target to 80, from around 72 at the start of the year. Getting back to the Champions League this year will be a great success, in my opinion. We'd need a lot to get the scudetto, it's difficult right now. There's a gap between us and Juventus, Inter, Lazio, and also Napoli who are getting consistent results on the pitch that we haven't yet done."
