After a rocky start to the season with the exclusion from the Europa League and the 17th place in Serie A, Atalanta want to bounce back and reach the higher part of the table like they did in the past two years. La Dea's midfielder Remo Freuler voiced his opinion on why the team is not performing to the best of their possibility: "The defeat in the Europa League play-offs had an impact on us - said the Swiss to La Gazzetta dello Sport - We had some slow starts in the last few years too, but we always managed to bounce back despite the many changes to the team. Freuler then discussed his personal bond with Atalanta and his future: "I managed to reach the national team playing here and I've grown as a playera and as a man. I am very vocal on the pitch and in the dressing room, but always in a constructive way. A contract extension? We are in no hurry, my contract runs out in 2022. We are discussing it with serenity. I've heard of the interest of LAzio and some Bundesliga clubs but I am happy here. This club is a model for everyone, it is one of the best in Italy".
