Between a strong start to the season in Serie A and earning a starting role with the Italian national team, many are starting to take notice of Niccolo’ Barella including Carlo Ancelotti. Napoli’s manager was asked about the Cagliari during his press conference to introduce the match versus Udinese: “We aren’t comparable as players, he’s better than I was at his same age. I think he’s a player worthy of a top club, so good enough for Napoli”
Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli tried to lower expectations after that quote by saying: “We’ll have to call the bank for Barella” but never say never, especially with the transfer market
