In Padova they remember that day very well. After returning to Serie A, the bianconscudati travelled to San Siro and Alexi Lalas scored the a historic goal against Milan. The center back was the first North American player to make it to Serie A back in the mid 90s, and today he returned to visit the city- this is what he had to say about that goal:”Maybe I was offsides, maybe today VAR would have overturned it. What a joy though, it was incredible to score in Serie A against Milan since I watched them on TV”
Fans remember Lalas not just for his performances on the pitch, but also for his passion for rock music, the American defender often played in local establishments back in the 90s and today he also played in Padova’s old stadium the Appiani where Alex Del Piero scored his first goal as a professional.
