UEFA is considering adopting a new calendar, and the ECA (European Clubs' Association) has sent a letter to its 200 members confirming talks around losening the rules of Financial Fair Play. Comments from the organization's president Andrea Agnelli were reported by news agency Reuters: "Every football director is responsible for the well-being and sustainability of the club they manage, and they must face a true existential threat. Given that football is more or less stopped, so are the cashflows which we depend on to pay our players, staff, and other operating expenses. No one is immune and time is of the essence. Calming our worries will be the biggest challenge that our game and our industry has ever faced."

Agnelli confirmed that the ECA is finalizing realistic strategies to "bring the game of football back at a national and European level," working to "help clubs manage their finances in this current period of social and economic crisis." UEFA is also working to "define a possible new model for the calendar. The discussions are very active on what should be the approach on UEFA licenses and on FFP in light of the current crisis."
