Romelu Lukaku has been left out of Chelsea's squad today to face Liverpool, as English outlets reported.
The 28-year-old found himself at the centre of attention after an unauthorised interview he gave to Sky Italy, in which he said he was unhappy with his role at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku also opened up on his willingness to return to Inter Milan in the near future, just four months after leaving them in a deal worth £96.4 million.
The Belgium international gave this interview days after Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Manchester United, following his eight minute cameo against them after returning from injury.
Lukaku has since then only returned to training last week having previously tested positive for COVID-19.
He then returned in fashion after scoring against Aston Villa and Brighton, in which he picked up two back-to-back man-of-the-match awards.
But following the release of the controversial interview released on Thursday and Friday where it was done behind the club's back, Chelsea have made the decision not to include Lukaku in the squad on Sunday.
Tuchel said in his press conference last Friday:
"We don't like it because it brings noise we don't need and it's not helpful.
"We need a calm environment and it does not help."
