The saga of Paul Pogba’s transfer to Manchester United dominated the transfer news headlines back in the summer of 2016. The French midfielder discussed his decision to return to Manchester United as well as how he has adapted to playing in England during an interview on the “Beyond the Pitch” podcast:”Could United have done more to keep me before I left to join Juve? I don’t know you would have to ask them. In summer of 2016 Real Madrid came to me and I was thinking of going there, but in my heart something told me to come back here. I don’t know why I felt that way but I don’t regret my choice”
Pogba was then asked about his first season back:” We won two trophies, Europa League and League Cup and we got back to the Champions League. That’s what we were expecting but the main objective was to win the Premier League and that didn’t happen”
Have you developed since returning to United? “Yes you need adaptation to go back to playing in England. I don’t start the game the same way I did last year so yes I’d say I have adapted. Is it very different since Ferguson left? A bit different since there’s a new coach but inside the club it’s the same”
