After losing the derby to Hellas Verona, Venezia are preparing to face Juventus on Saturday night.
Ahead of the match, Paolo Zanetti spoke about the season Mattia Caldara is having and commmented on rumors of his possible return to MIlan after they lost Kjaer for the year:
"Caldara has shown with his performances that he is a very important player for us, when we went and got him Collauto and I were the only ones to believe, for physical questions not technical. We can say that we gambled and won, the player should be getting attention, I don't know if we can allow ourselves to lose him or not, it's normal though for us he is fundamental."
The coach proceeded: "There is a chance that that something like this could happen and we need to prepare for it, but I can allow myself to say that today we cannot lose Caldara, losing a player like that in the middle of the year would be a problem regarding who we would go and get. Maybe the player hopes that Milan will come calling for him, that is a personal thing for him, but egotistically I want him to stay here. But it's clear that for the future I hope that he is able to get back to certain clubs, but I don't want to lose him on the short timeframe."
The 1994-born defender has collected 14 appearances this season for Venezia between league and Coppa Italia, he has scored one goal.
