After spending three seasons with a Granata shirt, Brazilian centre-back Lyanco is considering leaving Serie A. The 23-year-old, who is also in the radar of Lille, has become a target for Sporting CP. The rumors coming from Portugal have been confirmed: Sporting are pushing to sign the Brazilian defender.

The player, who signed a contract extension with Torino a year ago, hoped to have more playing time during the past season and now he is pondering a move elsewhere, should the Granata's new coach Marco Giampaolo - who is believed to play with a 4-men defence, the system favoured by the Brazilian centre-back - also pick other centre-backs over him in his starting XI.

Sporting have made significant progress in the talks with the player's agent and the parties will also meet on Wednesday when Lyanco's agent will travel to Lisbon to hold further discussions. The Portuguese side will however find a way to persuade Torino to let the player go, as the Granata's president Urbano Cairo is determined to avoid making a loss on the €6 million investement that he made 3 years ago to sign Lyanco from Sao Paulo.
