Paul Scholes is one of the greatest of all-time. His career numbers prove that: 11 Premier League titles, two Champions League titles and 66 appearances with England. He spent his career with Manchester United, but spoke about offers he received when speaking with BBC Radio 5 Live.
"I never knew about any requests from other teams. I only spoke once with an agent. It was Bryan Robson's agent. I was on retreat with the English national team, we were playing in Euro 2020. He asked me if I was interested in going to Inter. This is the only phone call that I ever had. After that, I didn't hear anything and the director of the club never told me anything."
"I was playing for my club. I was a Manchester guy, we were always winning trophies. If the coach told me that he didn't want me, I surely would've left whenever a great team abroad wanted me. But in that moment, I never would've needed to think about Barcelona or Real Madrid or Milan, because I was at the best club in the world."
