Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal has been suspended by UEFA for two matches following an intentional yellow card the fullback received in the final minutes of the match against Apoel. The reason: to arrive in the round of 16 with a clean disciplinary slate, however, the move has cost Carvajal an appearance in the first leg of the team's fixture with PSG on 14 February. The appeal from Real Madrid was unsuccessful, here is the statement from UEFA: "The disciplinary council of UEFA has rejected the appeal presented 7 December and confirms the suspension of Daniel Carvajal. After missing the match against Borussia Dortmund, the player must also face another match suspension."
