Today marked the introduction of Maurizio Sarri as the new Juventus manager. The bianconero coach spoke for more than 75 minutes with the press, presenting himself to his newest fans. A few questions were also asked to Fabio Paratici, Chief Football Officer, on both his choice of Sarri and on the transfer market. Below are his comments:
"The discussions with Sarri didn't last more than a month. We had clear ideas from the beginning, but we needed to have respect for all parties involved: two large clubs were speaking with each other, us and Chelsea, who I thank for their availability. We needed to respect them."
"Winning? It counts the same as before. Then, there is no recipe for who wins or loses, if there was one whoever invented it would be very rich. The decision was thought of because the driving force was an alchemy created between manager, club, team and fans: we feared that we'd lose it a bit."
"We'll compare ourselves today, we'll make all the necessary considerations. On the purchasing campaign and the players. The choice of manager? We thought that he was the best for Juventus right now. As we thought prior about Allegri and Conte before him. They've all won in different ways. I think that Sarri is the most appropriate and best for us. When did the final decision arrive? We don't listen to the voices from the outside."
"Pogba and Rabiot? They're two great players. Paul has given us a lot, we love him, he's grown. But he's a United player. Rabiot? We are in the race, there are many teams. But we're also chasing for others: we'll see with Sarri they can be the best players."
