Napoli, De Laurentiis officially rules out a Cavani return

| News | Autore: David Amoyal

Rumours, speculation, and sightings. So much was said about a possible (and dramatic) return of Edinson Cavani to Napoli. President Aurelio De Laurentiis has recently spoken out about the rumors of such a return, officially ruling out this possibility. Here is the statement on Napoli's website: "I am a big fan of Edinson Cavani. With him, we had a lot of fun during his time in Naples. He scored a lot of beautiful goals, 104 of them in fact! But it is difficult to bring a past player like this back to Napoli. Napoli's game has evolved; we have assumed different tactics with our current squad and the tournaments we are a part of. That is why I have always said we need young players, like our new arrivals this year, who can contribute to our project and to the success of Napoli. Speaking of strikers, important players like Milik and Gabbiadini have great possibilities, with Napoli, to find their true potential. We are responsible for the future of this club and we can not make transfers out of affection. We do not need to please anyone with our choices. Napoli has fans by faith, not by the selection of players." @GIANMARCALCIO
