Italian 2006 World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo played last night the final game of his career, as New York City prevailed over Columbus Crew in the Mls playoff match. Anyway, the 2-0 win that wasn't enough for the New York side to level the 4-1 loss suffered in the first leg. Pirlo was not in the starting line-up but was brought in by manager Patrick Vieira with five minutes left on the clock, to receive the standing ovation of the crowd. In this final chapter of his brilliant career, Pirlo made 62 appereances in the Mls, scoring one and assisting 19.
