A double against Inter, nearing a selection to the national team, Suso is in the midst of a successful season with Milan. In an interview with As, he responded to questions about the journey: "This has been my best year, the first months were important to get off to a good start and now I want to keep it going. The fans have been great, to see their club struggle has not been easy, but they have always supported us and I'm happy for that. National team? I don't know if Lopetegui would have called me up before my injury, but I still will need to play better. And for Spain there are so many great players who are left out. Gigio Donnarumma? He's a great guy, he's young, and he still has a long road ahead of him: everyone expects him to be a great goalkeeper. He needs to continue to work to be one of the best, but he has the ability. Real Madrid after him? He's been at Milan since he was young and he is happy here. Morata and Isco to Milan? I know them, and good players are always welcome, they'd be big contributors. My extension? I have two and a half years remaining and I have always said I am happy here, but we'll see what happens this summer. Would I like to return to Spain? I hope. It's wonderful going back to your home country, but I have a contract and I must wait until the summer. With the sale of the club nobody knows what kind of team Milan will have, what the process will be like."
