After parting ways with Gennaro Gattuso and Leonardo, Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has worked tirelessly to keep Paolo Maldini at the club. The club legend was meeting with Gazidis today and spoke to the reporters waiting outside after his exit, saying: "Positive feelings? There are, definitely. I am here to meet. Availability on my part? Absolutely, yes. We remain optimistic. We are talking, but it is not time to speak outside yet."
The communication of the appointment of Maldini as the new director of the technical area will not come today, however, as the parties have to finalize this new role in the coming days.
A positive dialogue is expected to continue with Gazidis, ready to embrace the new themes of the latest rossoneri revolution: from the current squad available, to the collaborators and head of the youth sector, to the coach and the market. Maldini seems primed for a central role in the new Milan.
