While the discussions for Torino's midfielder Souahilo Meite continue, Milan are looking to bring in other reinforcements for Pioli's squad.
The Rossoneri are considering several options both for the defence and for the attack. In defence, the deal for Mohamed Simakan, 20, of Strasbourg seems to have fallen through following the player's injury and the competition from RB Leipzig, which would sign him for next summer. The Rossoneri have chosen Chelsea's Fikayo Tomori as the first alternative option to Simakan and could open talks with Chelsea shortly.
For the attack, Milan have sounded out Cagliari's Pavoletti and Genoa's Scamacca as possible options, however they are also considering a more experienced option like former Juventus striker Mario Mandukic. The Croatian is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Al Duhail and is looking for a new club. The Rossoneri's directors have held a meeting with the striker's agent on Tuesday and seem now willing to step up their interest in signing the player. In the coming days it will become more clear if the parties will reach an agreement to bring Mandzukic back to Serie A.
