After six years and 185 matches with Liverpool's kit, Dejan Lovren says goodbye to England: after the Premier League's victory, the Croatian defender is joining Russia.

Zenit St. Petersburg has officially communicated, in a note on its website, the outright purchase of the 31 years-old defender, who has signed a three-years contract. "I'm very proud to play for the best Russian team, I'm looking forward to play alongside with my teammates and for a club focused on the Champions League. With my experience I want to help the team to get as far as possible in the competition", these were his first words.

Lovren had arrived from Southampton to Liverpool in 2014, and under coach Klopp he has also won Champions League, European Supercup and the World Championship for clubs. This year he has just played fifteen matches, scoring one goal against Napoli in the Champions League rounds. The 2018 World Cup runner-up is now ready to join Russia, after being courted by Milan and Roma during last summer.
