He grew up in Rui Costa’s shadow but his idol was Ricardo Kaka’ and between his hair, phsycal aspect and elegance you can say that Joao Felix resembles the former Milan star. The nineteen year old has been on the radar for top clubs for awhile but his recent hat trick against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League increased his appeal on the market even more.
At the moment Juventus are in pole position to acquire him. Under Florentino Perez, Real Madrid haven’t done much business with Benfica, Barcelona would likely have to sell a big name first, while Manchester United and City- despite being interested- are slightly behind.
Joao Felix of course has a very significant price: his current exit clause is €120 million. Benfica’s president would like to increase it to €200 million, but his agent Jorge Mendes doesn’t share this idea. The future is now, playing on the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo- the role model for every Portuguese player- could be the deciding motivation.
Joao Felix could be the eventual heir to Dybala should Juventus decide to sell the Argentine, in fact they share the same number “At Benfica I wear 79 just because I’m the you best, I had no other choice, I like number ten” he recently said.
