Juventus, Allegri: "Dybala started on the bench to recharge mentally."

Juventus now sits 11 points clear at the top of Serie A's scudetto race, closing in on achieving one of their biggest 2019 objectives. Manager Max Allegri spoke to Sky Sport following the team's 3-0 victory over Sassuolo.

"We didn't allow a goal and that was important, we created a lot. Dybala, Can and Bentancur entered well. Khedira and Dybala can play together, their trequartista was making things hard for them. Both Bernardeschi and Dybala played well. Khedira is a maestro at insertions, Bentancur can still improve. Szczesny made an extraordinary save where it was thought to be a penalty, but coming out of that 15' we went strong. Then Bernardeschi started to play trequartista and after a while they weren't able to maintain. Against teams that are very closed you need to expand the play, otherwise you need players within the lines. I changed the system to find a defensive, balanced asset and to have one more man in the midfield."

The question of the day was obviously about Dybala, initially left on the bench but played well as a sub, where he freed Ronaldo for the play that led to Can's goal. "In the first part of the season, Dybala together with Bonucci played more matches than everyone. Tonight he came on well, the bench serves to recharge yourself at a mental level. The question is about characteristics. Paulo plays in the same role, but those around him change. Cristiano makes himself large, so you only need one in the box. You could play with Dybala and Ronaldo in attack, but then you lose determined situations. Cristiano played ten years with Benzema, Cristiano and Dybala need Mandzukic."
