With the international break about to happen, it is time to think about the call ups. The Italian national squad is preparing to play their final two matches in qualification for the 2018 World Cup against Macedonia and Albania. After these matches they will turn to the play-off, which seems like a given at this point unless something extraordinary happens to Spain in the last two matches.
Alessandro Alciato of Sky Sport is reporting that Simone Zaza will make his return to the national squad one year after his last appearance in a friendly against Germany. Federico Chiesa could also receive his first call up after his impressive start to the season with Fiorentina, while Simone Verdi looks set to receive his second call up after he featured in a friendly against the Netherlands. The official list will be released on Saturday.
