Inter, PSG make first offer for Icardi

After the decision of ending the league early due to the Covid pandemic and being crowned champions, PSG can focus on making plans for next season. The first name on the French side's list of objective seems to be Mauro Icardi. The Argentinian, who scored 20 goals in 31 games in his first seasson with PSG, has convinced the club to redeem his economic rights from Inter.

The Nerazzurri have in fact received a first offer from PSG of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons, some of which would not be easily achievable. The sum offered by PSG is lower than the €70 million fee that the two clubs had agreed last summer when they completed the move of the striker on the basis of a loan with the option to buy, which could be exercised before May 31st.

The deadline of the 31st of May is pushing PSG to step up the negotiations since, after that date, they would have to renegotiate terms both with the player and Inter. The two clubs could extend the loan and push forward the deadline to exercise the option, however, to do so, they would need the greenlight from the player too.

From PSG's offer, however, it seems evident that the French club is trying to get a 'discount' on the sum included in the loan contract and now Inter have to ponder whether they will accept this offer before the end of May and avoid any problems in the future regarding Icardi's situation.
