Inter went into the international break with a lot of momentum after a series of wins, and now the nerazzurri are looking forward to the derby against Milan. Sporting director Piero Ausilio spoke to Sky Sport about the team’s current status: “We have character and other attributes. To do well you need quality, you don’t win six matches in a row without determination. The injured players? They stayed in Milan to rehab. Brozovic is recuperating, D’Ambrosio has a slight problem to his knee, we hope he can be available for the derby. The new additions? Everyone can do better, it’s not a matter of individual players. Keita arrived in the last days of the window and wasn’t feeling great. I think he can do well, he’s a good player”
Ausilio was asked about some potential transfer moves in January and an important extension: “The answer to Milan’s move for Paqueta? We already have a strong squad. Now we are scouting: we are watching a lot of matches and we did well. I’m convinced that after having viewed these players we can be ready to add what is needed. Icardi’s renewal? We are working on it, we aren’t hiding that fact. We saw each other and talked, we aren’t in a rush”
