Inter and coach Antonio Conte head into their match with Cagliari holding an 11 point advantage over the competition for the scudetto. Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Conte talked about the form and mentality of his team as the season in Serie A draws to its conclusion. First, the coach addressed the talk about the style that his team plays with:  "I think in Italy we are doing something exceptional, seeing as in the last nine years the same team has always won. Whoever talks about Inter must concentrate on this, other lines of discussion have no meaning. We have the opportunity to do something incredible and we must put emphasis and value on what the players have accomplished so far. Our final in the last season was the best result in Europe for an Italian in the last few years. Reclaiming credibility was missing a final step, the most important one, but we didn't do it. We will speak when things hae been decided. We will not make proclamations, we must be quiet and push on."

"When I came to Inter it was the most difficult decision that I could make, from any perspective, but I am not a person who lives for convenience and comfort. Nothing else would have given me a better chance to display my craft than at Inter. We have and continue to have a lot to lose, but I have a strong head and I move forward and will knock down walls with my head."

"We know that the match on paper is a difficult one, especially because Cagliari wasn't to play their cards to reach safety. It's surprising to see them in this position becuase they have a competitive team. For us it's the third match in the course of a week and we'll try to mae the best choices to put a competitive team there to look for three points. The matches against Bologna and Sassuolo were competitive, but the squad is fit and so we will look for the three points with the best selections possible."
