Daniele De Rossi gave an interview to GQ Italy, discussing his final days as a Roma and Boca Juniors players, as well as what his post-retirement future has in store for him. Here were some of the thoughts from Roma's ex-captain: "My true retirement was my last day at Trigoria, it hurt. The last time I left my room to go to the Stadio Olimpico I thought it was the last time that I would close that door. It made me feel like shaking, devastating. Many think that the Friedkin group contacted me, but I have never heard from anyone. I am not waiting for a new ownership to return to Roma. I have never had problems with Pallotta. I was unhappy with the decision not to renew my contract, but that seems obvious. I had lots of offers to continue playing in Serie A, but I didn't want to wear any other shirt in Italy besides Roma, it was a waste of a beautiful story. Boca was always a dream for me and it was an honor. There was not a day that I didn't feel happy at Boca."
"Future? I am waiting to find out when the next course for coach will be begin. It's a bit tough for me that everyone expects that sooner or later I will coach Roma because I was a player there. I don't want to create problems for Fonseca, he's great and I see him here a long time."
