After a season in which they broke their own point record despite not winning the title, Napoli are starting a new chapter with Carlo Ancelotti on the bench. The club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis spoke about his plans in an interview with Corriere dello Sport:”This club is in constant evolution, Ancelotti was the most intriguing answer we could give ourselves. What are we looking for? Two keepers, a defensive wing player, and should Jorginho and Hamsik leave, two midfielders. Are we obsessed with a keeper? We aren’t. I like Meret a lot, but when you go to the Pozzo family, the prices become illogical. Areola is great, like others. Keylor Navas has experience, but Napoli isn’t in a rush”

De Laurentiis was asked about Hamsik and Jorginho’s futures:”Hamsik was at my house in Venglos and he told me I would be contacted by a Chinese club. No one contacted me. Jorginho? I spoke about him with Manchester City and now (sporting director) Giuntoli is in contact with them, there is a concrete chance that everything is settled soon”

De Laurentiis addressed the situation surrounding his former manager Maurizio Sarri:”Chelsea? I never received any phone calls. I want something to be clear: this isn’t a city you can pillage, this isn’t a club you should underestimate. Sarri? I haven’t heard from him, he never called me. After the match against Crotone, I waited for him, but neither he nor his agent Pellegrini contacted me. I acknowledged this and thought back to something my father said: nothing should surprise you in life”
