Cagliari continue to look for Eusebio Di Francesco's replacement after their recent loss to Torino. The Sardinian club have reached out to Leonardo Semplici once again, the former Spal manager is the favorite to take over, he has requested a salary in line with what he received last season and the opportunity to work with his own staff.
Cagliari had also considered Roberto Donadoni, but the odds of hiring the former Bologna manager have diminished since he also wants to bring his own staff, while president Giulini would like to retain Calzona as technical collaborator and Baldus as conditioning coach, which leaves former Empoli manager Andreazzoli as the main alternative to Semplici since he doesn't have his own conditioning coach. The final decision will be made by Giulini and sporting director Capozucca, they will decide if they'll accept Semplici's demands.
