Roma is ready to welcome another defender to Spalletti's squad to help offset the injuries to Rudiger and Mario Rui. Thomas Vermaelen is set to join the giallorossi, his current club Barcelona announced the move with a tweet on their official Twitter account:"With the club's permission Vermaelen has travelled to Rome to undergo a medical with AS Roma"- the center back's transfer was completed on the basis of a loan deal with option to buy.
