These are historic weeks for Atalanta, as the team qualified for the Coppa Italia final on Thursday and Gasperini's squad is right in the thick of things for the Champions League race. It does not end there, though, because Monday night - after the match against Udinese - work will begin to renovate the Curva Nord, the first step toward a complete reconstruction of the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
Roberto Spagnolo, Operations DIrector of Atalanta and manager of the project, spoke on the exciting renovations: We've been speaking about renovating the stadium since the 50s. Following Monday's match, the first phases of construction will begin. From April 30 until May 6, there will be the dismantling of the underground services, when the demolition of the curve will start on May 7."
The conclusion date is still not official: "On paper, we should finish around September 22, we'll obviously give updates as the construction goes on."
Atalanta will play two matches on a neutral pitch, against Genoa and Sassuolo, both of which will be played at Mapei Stadium.
