Lichtsteiner, between the potential extension with Juventus & exclusion from CL list

After Dani Alves' arrival at beginning of transfer window and Juan Cuadrado's return on the last day, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Stephan Lichtsteiner. But despite the recent rumors, the Swiss right back never pushed to join Inter, however his brother/agent had asked the bianconeri about some proposals- Juventus' answer was that they would only consider moving him abroad. Both West Ham and Leicester made offers but they were never able to agree to personal terms with the player. Despite Dani Alves and Cuadrado's arrivals, Lichtsteiner could still extend with Juventus so he can finish his playing career with the bianconeri before taking the courses to become a coach at Coverciano. The parties are coming closer to reaching an agreement on a new contract after the player had asked for considerably higher wages to extend his deal. Juventus also has an option to extend Lichtsteiner, which currently expires in 2017, but it must be exercised by January- should they not trigger it Lichtsteiner would be owed €750,000. Regarding Lichtsteiner's recent exclusion from the Champions Leagues list it was a purely sporting decision- there was just one spot available between the Swiss right back and Hernanes, but because of Marchisio's absence for the beginning of the season as he recovers from his knee surgery, Allegri opted for the Brazilian player.
