Claudio Ranieri was surprisingly sacked by Leicester after having achieved an incredible success in his prior campaign with the club. Here is the first statement from Ranieri which was given to Press Association Sport: "Yesterday my dream died. After achieving victory in the Premier League, my dream was to stay with Leicester, the club I loved, forever. However, this will not be the case. I would like to thank my wife, Rosanna, and my entire family for their unwavering support throughout my entire experience here. My thanks goes to Paolo and Andrea as they accompanied me on this great journey. I would also like to thank Steve Kutner and Frank Ganello who gave me the opportunity to become a champion. But most importantly I would like to thank Leicester Football Club. This adventure was amazing, and it will always be a part of me. Thank you to all the journalists who followed us to tell the greatest story in the history of football. My most sincere thanks go to all those who made this possible: the players, staff, and all those who were a part of what we did. However, I thank the fans above everyone else. You allowed me to enter your hearts from the first day, and were always appreciative of my work. I also appreciate all that the fans have done. No one can ever take away all that we accomplished, and I hope that you will continue to think about all that we have done. It was an amazing moment that I will never forget. It was a pleasure and honor to become a champion with you."
