Ezequiel Lavezzi recently spoke to Sky Sport about a variety topics including his time spent at Napoli: "I left many great things when I went to China, and for this reason, I have a lot of nostalgia for Napoli. I like the style of play which Sarri has implemented on this current Napoli team." Lavezzi also discussed a possible regret with regards to a return which never materialized: "I always thought about returning, but I do not think the president wanted me to. If I ever return to Italy, and I do not end up at Napoli, it is because they did not want me."

Lavezzi concluded by discussing his current situation: "I was certainly motivated by the economic factor of the deal, and I cannot deny this. Why have I not yet scored? I played eight games prior to getting injured. I understand the Chinese league may not be often seen in certain regions, but I played in a different role. I often was utilized as a playmaker."
