In his first season at Juventus, Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had the opportunity to play many games and prove to be a good choice in his role. The former Arsenal talked about his first few months with the Bianconeri and his hopes for the future in an inteview with Tuttosport: "I was lucky enough to play more than I tought I would and I think I did well. When I joined Juve, I knew that there was Buffon, a legend of football, and that for me this was an opportunity to get to train with the best keeper in the world. I've never won a league trophy and now I can learn from Gigi and from all the other amazing players her how to handle such situations. Becoming a regulare will be much easier in the future. Our goal is to win everything. There are stronger teams in Europe but we have quality, humility in defending and in being compact too. If Buffon continued playing, it would be a good thing for him and for the team. The team still needs him, as captain and as great goalkeeper. Age is just a number, he was the best, or one of the best, goalkeepers in Serie A in the last few years".

Finally, Szczesny drew a comparision between is current coach Allegri and his former one at Arsenal Wenger: "It's difficut to think about Allegri in a Wenger-esque role (coach - manager). When you do so well, there are many clubs that want you. Wenger did special things at the beginning too, then he did very well in managing the club's finances. As an Arsenal fan I'd like to see them win more. Allegri has the humility to make us defend: we know that the team has enough quality to score, but conceding less it's what wins you the league".
