Benatia has many suitors, but no official offers yet

Benatia has many suitors. In the last days, he was rumoured to be headed to Manchester, then to Bayern Munich, with an executive in Italy to close the deal. And where was Benatia? In Ostia, relaxing, waiting for news and maybe smiling at the whispers. Meanwhile, Roma remain serene: they haven’t received any official offer from the three clubs that are interested (Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea too), so they don’t have to evaluate anything. If the inquiries resulted in concrete offers, the club would decide how to handle the situation, the starting bid has to be at least €35M or it’s better to not even show up. The sporting director Sabatini has returned in Rome after the weekend in London, where he watched some games and spoke with several operators. At the same time, he’s working on some deals involving Ligue 1: he asked Lille for Basa once again, he inquired about PSG’s Rabiot (but Arsenal have made a very rich offer and could close the deal: otherwise, if he leaves for free nex

t year, Juventus are still after him), he dreams to bring back Marquinhos, but that’s extremely unlikely. In the meantime, Benatia is preparing to be courted for the next two weeks.
